{"id":29200,"date":"2021-06-07T19:18:47","date_gmt":"2021-06-07T19:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/applitools.com\/?page_id=29200"},"modified":"2024-01-12T09:12:20","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T17:12:20","slug":"ccpa","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/applitools.com\/legal\/ccpa\/","title":{"rendered":"Legal &#8211; CCPA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>Last updated: May 20, 2021<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June 2018, the State of California passed a new bill called the California Consumer Privacy Act (&#8220;<strong>CCPA<\/strong>&#8220;), with the purpose of protecting the personal information of consumers who are California residents. The CCPA went into effect on January 1, 2020.<br>Applitools sees the CCPA as part of a positive wide-spread effort to create better privacy-friendly environments. As a company highly committed to privacy, we have put together this document to provide an overview of what Applitools has done to implement the CCPA.<br>If you would like to read more on our GDPR readiness, please visit <a href=\"https:\/\/applitools.com\/gdpr\">https:\/\/applitools.com\/gdpr<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is Applitools doing regarding CCPA?<\/strong> Since Applitools has presence in the State of California and has Californian customers, we are aware of CCPA and its requirements. This is a high level and non-exhaustive summary of what we have done so far:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>CCPA strategy<\/strong>: We retained outside counsel to help us understand the CCPA, prepare a CCPA compliance plan and we have involved our different departments in order to implement CCPA requirements internally.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Do not sell!<\/strong> We do not and are not interested in &#8220;selling&#8221; (as such term is defined under CCPA) your personal identifiable information (&#8220;PII&#8221;) to anyone as explained in our <a href=\"https:\/\/applitools.com\/privacy-policy\/\">privacy policy<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Privacy notices<\/strong>: We have recently updated our <a href=\"https:\/\/applitools.com\/privacy-policy\/\">privacy policy<\/a> in order to cover CCPA requirements.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Our commitments as a &#8220;service provider&#8221;<\/strong>. When we process PII on our customer&#8217;s behalf, we commit not to retain, use, or disclose such PII except for the purposes of the contract or any other purposes permitted under the CCPA. We have a CCPA addendum ready for any customer who would need it and available <a href=\"https:\/\/applitools.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Applitools-CCPA-Addendum-Customers-April-7-202111686491.1.docx\">here<\/a> . If you are a customer subject to the CCPA or who needs a CCPA addendum, please download it, sign it and return it signed to contracts@applitools.com.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Consumers&#8217; Rights<\/strong>. At customer\u2019s or consumer&#8217;s request (as applicable), Applitools will assist with consumers\u2019 rights where relevant PII is within possession or control of Applitools and in accordance with our privacy policy: <a href=\"https:\/\/applitools.com\/privacy-policy\/\">https:\/\/applitools.com\/privacy-policy\/<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Security<\/strong>. Applitools is ISO 27001 certified.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Should I, as an Applitools customer, be concerned about the CCPA?<\/strong> Our recommendation is that all our customers assess carefully whether they are subject to the CCPA and if so, take the necessary measures to ensure their compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>And then what?<\/strong> Consider what personal data you are sharing with Applitools when using our services, and if required, engage in a suitable CCPA addendum with Applitools as your service provider.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where can I learn more about CCPA?<\/strong> Additional information is available on the California Legislative Information website here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>I have more questions.
